Our Sisterhood
True and Constant
UC Berkeley Gamma Phi Beta is a diverse and inclusive chapter full of strong, passionate, brilliant, loving, and dedicated women. As sisters, we support each other in our endeavors and share hugs, smiles, and tears as we develop lifelong friendships. Joining this organization has changed our lives for good, and we have learned that it is not just four years – it is for life.
Throughout the year, we plan multiple sisterhood events such as trips to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, retreats to Lake Tahoe, award show viewing parties, karaoke nights, dinners at our favorite restaurants, and hikes around our lovely city. No matter where we are or what time of day it is, sisters are always there to share adventures.
Big and Little
One of the most special and memorable moments in becoming a Gamma Phi Beta is when two sisters find an especially strong bond. A Big is an older member in the chapter with whom new members have met throughout their new member period and feel a connection with.
Bigs act as mentors and role models to their Littles, providing advice, love, and support in good or bad times. Littles bring joy, laughter, perspective, and so much love to their Bigs. This special bond carries on throughout each member’s collegiate experience and even after a member has already graduated, as these relationships are as strong as the rock we were founded on.
