About New Member Education

New Member Education is a welcoming and engaging program designed to help new members learn about Gamma Phi Beta’s history, values, and traditions while building meaningful connections within the chapter. After Bid Day, our new member period will last about 4 weeks, ending with initiation into our True and Constant sisterhood.

Through weekly meetings, small group activities, and one-on-one mentorship, new members develop friendships, leadership skills, and a strong foundation for a lifetime of sisterhood in Gamma Phi Beta.

A Letter from Your New Member Educator

Dear PNM’s,

I’m so excited for each of you as you begin this journey. Being part of a sisterhood means finding a place where you are supported, celebrated, and truly at home.

As your new member educator, I can’t wait to walk alongside you, get to know you, and watch you grow. Each of you brings something special, and I’m so grateful to be part of this chapter with you.

Love, Stephany

New Member Education Programming

New Member Education Meetings

New members meet weekly with their new member class to learn about Gamma Phi Beta’s history and values while building strong connections with new sisters. These sessions provide guidance, support, and a foundation for a lifelong sisterhood experience.

Sisterhood Activities

Throughout our new member experience and beyond, new members are able to join sisterhood activities to get to know new sisters and participate in a fun activity!

Gamma Gals, Phi Friends, and Beta Buddies

In the first three weeks, new members are paired 1:1 with initiated members, called Gamma Pals, Phi Friends, and Beta Buddies, to build connections beyond their class and create a lasting support system within your new sisterhood.

Big Sister / Little Sister

A Big Sister is an initiated member who serves as a mentor, role model, and friend to her Little Sister. Through support, encouragement, and shared experiences, Big Sisters help their Littles build confidence, make connections, and fully enjoy their membership.

Carnation Crews

Each week, new members meet in small groups called Carnation Crews, led by initiated members of the chapter, to build closer connections with a smaller group of your new member class. These will help you to make closer bonds with others.

Initiation

Initiation is the formal ceremony where new members officially become lifelong, initiated members of Gamma Phi Beta. This meaningful milestone connects new initiates to generations of Gamma Phi Beta sisters who share the bond of being true and constant.
